Vax’s patented SpinScrub brushes are also a key feature of the ECGLB1V1. Five individual rotating brushes are placed at the bottom of the cleaning tool. Several tests did prove that the carpet dries within that time, if not a bit more. Of course, this length of time will vary depending on the type of carpet and the general climate.
The ECGLV1B1 comes with a hand tool attachment, which you can use to clean upholstery surfaces, such as couches, pillows, dinner chairs, and car interiors. These attachments also have durable brushes which allow for deep cleaning. This hand tool attachment is also perfect for stairs.
Tank Capacity
Sticking to the tried and tested design of the Rapid Power line of cleaners, the Vax ECGLV1B1 Rapid Power Pro Carpet Cleaner also has the same tank system. The dirty tank is placed below the clean tank in each of their allotted spaces on the machine. For the clean tank, it is important to note that there are two separate openings for water and the cleaning solution, as there are also two separate compartments for each fluid within the tank.
Unlike Vax’s other solutions and formulas, the Ultra+ solution doesn’t foam a lot, so it doesn’t mess with the built-in safety valve within the dirty tank to notify you that it is already full.
Both tanks are easy to attach and detach. With each having a dedicated space complete with clips and locks to hold them securely in place, the tank design is certainly top-notch, and you won’t have to worry about spillages happening too often. Cleaning the tanks are also very easy and convenient.
Ergonomics and ease of use
As with other products of the Rapid Power line, the Vax ECGLV1B1 Rapid Power Pro Carpet Cleaner’s bulky weight leaves much to be desired. Weighing in at 8.4 kg, it’s certainly no pushover and it can be quite heavy to carry and manoeuvre around your home, especially after prolonged use.
The ECGLV1B1 comes in with a 2.5 m hose which you can attach to the hand cleaning tool for cleaning stairs. Unfortunately, such a length may not be enough to clean the stairs in one go. If you have the machine set up at the bottom of the stairs, you may have to move the machine up with you once you reach half the staircase. Coupled with the machine’s weight, cleaning stairs with the Vax ECGLV1B1 Rapid Power Pro Carpet Cleaner can still prove to be a bit of a hassle.
Nevertheless, the hand tool attachment works wonders on couches, car seats, and other upholstery surfaces. The difference can be seen in just a few sweeps. The ECGLV1B1 can definitely make your upholsteries look, smell, and feel like new again.
