Facebook ads for cleaning business – How To Guide

Drumming up new customers for your business can be hard work, i found that out when i started my window cleaning company. I tried most ways you can think of, and the best results with the highest ROI was Facebook advertising.

If your looking for the best way to advertise a cleaning business to generate window cleaning leads, or any other leads. Then Facebook ads is the way, if you don’t follow some sort of guide to walk you through it, then your going to end up spending a lot with little return.

This how to guide will walk you through the steps you got to take to make a successful campaign for your business. This method will work for any business that wants to generate leads. If your reading this article now I’m assuming you already have a Facebook page for your business.

Heres a screen shot of my Facebook ad account. As you can see 36 people have messaged my business page. And of course you are not going to gain all of them as customers. I would of been happy to just add just 10 customers to my list, but i added 21 instead which I’m happy about.

Results:

  • Customers messaged my business: 36
  • Total spend £92.86
  • Cost per message: £2.58
  • Customers i gained: 21 out of 36
  • Recurring revenue added to my business £162

The £162 i added to my round means that i made a profit in the first month of gaining the customers. Now compared to canvassing companies that charge 3 or 4 cleans, it’s a big difference.

Why should you do Facebook advertising?

Facebook has billions of monthly users, and a lot of them are looking for all different types of services. You just got to get that service in front of them for them to purchase. Wether thats house cleaning, window cleaning or any other business. You can reach the customer you want.

Facebook can be a powerful platform for businesses if used correctly. There are loads of different ways to advertise on Facebook not just ads but also in local groups. Compared to canvassing that charges 3-4 times a monthly clean, this method has a massive ROI.

Setting the Facebook ad up for your cleaning business is easy, when you know what your doing. You can try to get similar results, if you follow this step by step guide.

Choosing your marketing objective

To get in contact with a potential customer, you should give them the easiest way to get in contact with you which is messages in my opinion. Once that is done scroll down and click continue.

Creating your audience

Once your on the next page your going to have to create a custom audience. This part is the most important part of the ad. I have seen people advertising their window cleaning company to the whole of the UK. So being really specific is the key to getting compact and cheap customers with a great ROI.

Choose people who live in this location, this is the best option because they have a house in the area your targeting. You don’t want to be targeting people visiting the area that live somewhere else.

Next click on drop pin an drop it in the specific areas you want to cover.

Then, the area you dropped the pin will automatically choose 16KM. You need to click on + 16KM and change it to 1KM. And do that over and over again covering all the areas you want to.

Underneath the map will be the option to change gender and age. Change them to woman age 30 – 65+.

Next choose the budget that you have to work with, obviously the more you spend the more customers you gain. When you start booking customers in, thats when you should put your daily budget up. Once thats done click continue at the bottom of the page.

Creating the ad

This part is specific to your business, once you have filled in the relevant information. Try to give the customer some sort of offer, or explain why your business is better than others. Make sure call to action is set on send message.

Once you have filled in all your ad and made it amazing and added a great picture or video of your service then scroll down to this part and click edit.

This template for messenger is good, because you can get your potential customer to interact with you while your not there. At the top part if your a window cleaner you can ask for the address of the customer.

What happens then is, when someone clicks on send message on your Facebook ad straight away your greeting text gets sent to them. So it encourages them to give you their information.

Once you click save changes your all done, just press publish and wait for your ad to be approved. If things don’t look like they are working, just be patient before you turn the ad off and spend about £15-£20 first.

When i first set mine up for my window cleaning business, i had 1 person message the first day, then i was averaging about 3-4 people per day.

Conclusion:

If your looking for the best way to advertise a cleaning business, this is that way your looking for. Wether your advertising house cleaning, window cleaning or any other cleaning service, this method will work for all. Its all about testing and more testing and when something works, double down on that.
